Lead Ideas: Why we should go to farmer's markets before the grocery store
by Cheesecake
Lead 1 (Direct address lead):
Tomorrow when you shop for those scrumptious fresh veggies to put in your pasta primavera, instead of spending too much money on organic vegetables at the retail grocery store down the block, try your local farmer’s market. In this quirky atmosphere you might find lower prices, better support your local economy, and help out the environment.Lead 2 (Rhetorical Question):
What is an easy way to eat great food without busting the bank, stimulate the local economy, and lend the environment a helping hand? Make a visit to your neighborhood farmer’s market.
Lead 3 (Descriptive & Twist):
“Milling around the farmers’ market with like-minded foodies, buying fresh produce grown on nearby small farms, listening to local musicians play local songs, and supporting a variety of homegrown artisans certainly qualifies as an enriching community experience,” says Freakonomics author Stephen J. Dubner when speaking of farmer’s markets. He does not personally subscribe to the appeal of befriending those who grow the food he eats, but finds that farmer’s markets foster community ties unheard of in supermarkets.
I really like the 1st lead! -Star
